The Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditors (APIPA) will proudly celebrate its 31st annual conference virtually from August 3-14, 2020. Each year, the APIPA Conference serves as the region's premier professional development event for finance and audit professionals from throughout the U.S.-affiliated Pacific islands. APIPA 2020 will feature unparalleled opportunities for participants to sharpen skills, update their knowledge, and collaborate through training with peers across the Pacific.

Unusual times like these call for innovative approaches to offer the professional training we need. More than ever, our accountability profession needs to maintain its core competence as we serve the public and our governments.

In this light, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the official website for our 31st Annual Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditors (APIPA) Conference! The APIPA 2020 website contains all the information you need to know about this year’s virtual conference. Whether you work in American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Palau, or somewhere in-between, APIPA 2020 will allow you to enhance your professional training this August without leaving your office.

This exciting virtual conference will build on more than 30 years of APIPA providing high-quality training to accountability professionals. This year, we will offer daily 4-hour sessions from Monday, August 3 through Friday, August 14. Using the Zoom platform and your registration, we will offer excellent training sessions focused in the areas that matter most to you.

Our host committee has been working closely with the Graduate School USA to put together an exciting program. The conference will offer plenary sessions on each Monday and Friday – sessions of general interest to participants, as well as a choice of two tracks each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each tracked day will offer a topic of general interest and a more technical topic. This will allow each participant to choose the courses are best suited to their needs.

With 16 half-day courses and the opportunity to earn up to 40 hours of continuing professional education over two weeks, you will find the conference valuable to both your personal professional development as well as to your office and profession.

We appreciate the United States Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs, as well as the Pacific Islands Training Initiative (PITI), for their ongoing support of APIPA and our annual conferences. In addition, we thank the Graduate School USA team for their work securing outstanding instructors. Finally, we thank the Department of the Interior's Office of Inspector General for their continued support of the APIPA principals and offices.
